04. Showing that the existing method of teaching English in our country does not help those who learn to make initial English sentences.
- When learning a mother tongue and a second language, anyone's mind naturally works in two quite different manners. Hence, a method that a race uses to learn its mother tongue, is not applicable for some other race to learn a second language.
- What existing in our country is the method being used by the Englishmen to learn English as their mother tongue. That method is not applicable at all for the Sinhala race who learns English as a second language.
- Even though English is taught for about 10 years at school, for about 4 years at university and then some more years, this inapplicability is the matter why most of them in our country have been unable to get a sufficient English knowledge.
